Non-Degree Courses

 

The Regular Program is offered on a seasonal basis, with each term lasting 12 weeks (3 months).

It welcomes international students who are interested in learning Chinese and planning to stay in Taiwan for long-term Chinese study.

The program features small-class teaching to ensure learning quality and is divided into four levels: Beginner, Basic, Intermediate, and Advanced.
Course content includes both language learning and cultural studies, aiming to enhance students’ listening, speaking, reading and writing skills from beginner to advanced levels, with an emphasis on practical usage in real-life contexts.

Eligibility

  • Freigners aged 18 r above wh are interested in learning Chinese.
  • Must be willing t study for at least 3 mnths in rder to meet the program requirements.

Class Size

  • Beginner / Basic: 5–15 students per class.
  • Intermediate / Advanced: 5–12 students per class.
  • If fewer than 5 students register, the Chinese Language Center reserves the right t adjust or cancel the class.

 Courses & Materials

  • Main textbok: Practical Audio-Visual Chinese, supplemented with handouts or other materials when needed.
  • Beginner level: Limited English supprt, with pictures and real objects as aids.
  • Basic level: Classes begin t be conducted mainly in Chinese.
  • Intermediate & Advanced levels: Classes are taught entirely in Chinese.
  • Instructin uses Hanyu Pinyin and Traditional Chinese characters.
  • Students are expected t prepare, review, and actively participate in class.

A short-term program lasting 2 to 4 weeks, designed as an immersive experience. The curriculum includes Chinese foundation courses, cultural and artistic courses, specialty courses from Chia Nan University of Pharmacy & Science (CNU), heritage sites courses, and courses about festivals and customs. The program is ideal for learners who want to experience local life in Tainan, interact with local people, and learn to apply Chinese in real communicative situations.

Eligibility

  Foreigners aged 18 and above with an interest in learning Chinese.
